The PREVEL Process Overview

Outsiders view manufacturing as a simple physical process that converts raw materials into finished goods.  Insiders know better.

PREVEL consultants view manufacturing as a collection of dynamic, inter-related and competing activities.  Our goal is to bridge the gap between the simple models of manufacturing and the dynamic reality of your world.

Traditional organization and information structures are still based on the static snapshot of the world.  Even the “fully integrated” (read “expensive”) enterprise software retains this view.  Have you ever noticed that all of the examples in accounting texts and software demos involve business problems that are simple, easy to understand?  Was that ever a reasonable description of your business?

At PREVEL we understand the difference between the metrics used for the analysis of history, and the metrics of execution that allow you to cause your future history.  And we understand that these sets of metrics are fundamentally incompatible.  Historical analysis has all the data, all the events and transactions in hand when the analysis starts.  You only get to see the data one event at a time.  That’s why we have built a new metric framework to address this dichotomy.

The number of “critical initiatives” launched in manufacturing over the past 60 years is astonishing. It's hard to keep up.
